Following last season’s event, the Jax trophy was again hotly contested, this time by four teams of four boats. Though never strong, the breeze obliged by remaining more or less consistent when it finally arrived up the river to Concord Ryde. After the round-robin races the white team were clearly in front and went on to meet the yellow team in the sail-off for the gold medal. In the final, the yellow team were superior and took the trophy. The winners, all representing Concord Ryde were: Matt Dismorr, Geoff Nash, Daniel Smith and John Burwood. Special congratulations to Daniel Smith who was on the winning team last series. Well done, especially to the three young skippers (and John). Runners up in the white team were: Greg Harris, Warren Monaghan, Warren Hodgkins and Stephen Watts. Also, a big thank you to the team at CRSC who provided the umpires, starters and canteen / barbeque after the race. |
